💡 Step-by-Step Application Guide

1. Surface Preparation

  • Thoroughly degrease your workspace and the application surface.
  • Wipe down metal surfaces completely using 70% isopropyl rubbing alcohol to clear away hidden body oils, grease, and carbon buildup.
  • Note: For absolute maximum corrosion resistance and finish consistency on bare metals, always apply an initial coat of RAPCO military primer.

2. Shaking & Priming the Can

  • Alkyd paint contains high levels of flattening agents that settle quickly.
  • Aerosol cans must be shaken vigorously for 2 to 3 minutesimmediately after you hear the internal mixing ball begin to rattle

3. Spraying Technique

  • Do not panic during application: RAPCO paint naturally applies heavy and glossy at first.
  • Allow the formula to sit. It takes roughly 24 to 48 hours for the binders to fully level, flatten out, and drop into its true matte finish.
  • Wait 1 to 2 hours between coats until the surface is completely dry to the touch. If it feels sticky or tacky, grant it more time.

4. Curing Timeline

  • 24 Hours: Safe for basic handling or carefully peeling off camo stencils.
  • 1 Week: Full chemical cure. Wait a full 7 days before applying gun oils, heavy lubricants, or subjecting the surface to rough field wear.
